The Customer - Tameem Shipchandlers, UAE

Tameem Shipchandlers is a European managed professional ship Supply Company, supplying high quality goods at competitive rates and has become one of the leading ship suppliers in the Arabian Gulf.

Operating from a central office/warehouse complex of 15,000 square feet in the Emirates of Sharjah, supplies are distributed to all ports on the UAE. In order to achieve this position Tameem have developed a management system in conformance with ISO 9002 since 1994.

The Challenge

The company distributes more than 120,000 items from dishwashing detergent to engineering equipment to ships in the Arabian Gulf. Tameem Shipchandlers had deployed different applications across different functional departments like Sales, Purchase, Warehousing and Finance. These departments had islands of information and was never synchronised. A year ago its outdated legacy system started to falter and Tameem began to experience stock-outs. The currents application was incapable of keeping pace with the company's rapid growth and increasing inventory volumes.

The Solution

Tameem launched a comprehensive search for a leading-edge enterprise solution capable of delivering significant improvements in warehouse-management, inventory- management, purchasing and sales order processing.
