DFCU Bank contracts Technology Associates to implement mission critical data consolidation project.
The Bank’s core banking system, Bankmaster from Misys sat off a SUN solaris platform, while their EFT Switch application off an IBM AS400 server. Additionally the bank had their internal office productivity and mail & messaging applications that ran off a Windows environment. The difficulty in managing surging growth in data across this multi-platform became a constant challenge.
Technology Associates’ solution revolved around the HP Network Attached Storage solution with an unattended centralized tape library. Technology Associates implemented HP NAS 2000S with a storage capacity of 500 GB. A central switch allowed a centralized storage solution for the bank.
The External Tape Library is connected on the NAS offering enterprise-wide backup in a server free and LAN free configuration. The backup scheduling and the policies were set using the Veritas Netbackup suite. One of the key competence criteria’s DFCU found in Technology Associates was our ability in understanding multi-operating system architectures and protocols and demonstrative past experience in implementing large scale SAN and NAS environments.
The NAS 2000S today provides maximum return on the data center storage investment for DFCU Bank.
Technology Associates will enhance our relationship with the bank in the near future with our business application solutions portfolio to address the bank's Treasury and Asset & Liability businesses as we present an overall compelling partnership proposition to the bank. |
